ICC Celebrates Ecuadorian Heritage and Community at Parade

August 15, 2024

On Sunday, August 11, 2024, the Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC) proudly participated in the annual Ecuadorian Parade, an event that brought together the vibrant community of the Ironbound neighborhood. ICC hosted a stunning float, adorned with vibrant decorations, showcasing the unity and spirit of the community. Aboard the float were many of ICC’s valued community partners and friends, all joining together to celebrate Ecuadorian culture and the rich diversity of the Ironbound area.

As the float made its way through the parade route, ICC members actively engaged with parade-goers, handing out colorful t-shirts that symbolized the organization’s long-standing commitment to the community. They also provided essential refreshments, including water and snacks, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the festivities comfortably.

In addition to these giveaways, ICC took the opportunity to share valuable information about the critical services they offer. From housing assistance to food pantry access, child care programs, and educational resources, ICC’s presence at the festival was a reminder of their unwavering dedication to improving the lives of those in the Ironbound community.

This year’s participation held special significance as ICC is celebrating 55 years of service. Over the past five and a half decades, ICC has been a cornerstone of support, advocating for and empowering the residents of the Ironbound section of Newark. Their involvement in the Ecuadorian Parade was not just a celebration of culture but also a reaffirmation of their commitment to fostering a strong, united, and thriving community.
