FOC’s MISSION is to provide financial education, job training and career development services to support personal development and economic stability for families and to collaborate with Newark 2020, businesses and other organizations to enhance employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for residents.

The Financial Opportunity Center is located at:

Ironbound Community Center, 432 Lafayette Street
The center is open:

M – F: 9AM – 2:30PM
M – F: 2:30PM – 4:30PM By Appointment ONLY

FOC is a career and personal finance service center that helps low-to moderate income community members focus on the financial bottom line with integrated delivery of employment, entrepreneurship services, financial coaching, and accessing income supports.

The Financial Opportunity Center provides:

Financial education, counseling, & coaching
Job training & job placement
Job Fairs
Newark 2020 job listings & services
Career & small business development services
Entrepreneurial classes
Access to income benefits, such as SNAP
Free Tax assistance through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program
